Nice Work Campers!
We just finished the 3 week Holiday Boot Camp that went from Dec. 1st-19th. It turned out great and and I was impressed with everyones willingness to work hard each morning. This camp was all indoors thanks to the freezing weather that had me scrapping my truck windows at 5 a.m. I love being outside for the camp, but we really are lucky to be in such a nice big facility for the winter months. Here's a couple pics. I was pumped by Gaylynn's upper body strength. Check her out busting out full on push ups, making it look easy.
I included one of my bro Ty who is in great shape. He busted his butt and in was good to see that it was a great workout for him. Just goes to show that this camp is designed for all people, no matter the level they're at. We have different degrees and can scale it to each individual. It also showed how awesome you campers did and were able to keep up with the same routine. Nice work!

Congrats Oct-Nov Boot campers!
After four weeks of 5:30 a.m. camp I was able to sleep in this morning. Though sleeping in to me isn't what it was before. I was up by 8 and felt I was wasting the day away. After each camp there is always a one week break before the next one starts back up.
I feel that this last camp was a success. I worked with some "go gettas" and was motivated by them daily. Thanks to Brandon, Jill and my Madre for staying focused and being so dedicated! There were others who attended or visited, but these three stuck out the the camp and made great gains. There were pounds lost, inches shrunken, bad habits changed and confidence gained. Most of all, what I enjoy is the friendships that are developed. Something about sweating in front of people you're just getting to know early in the morning I guess.
The next camp starts next Monday Dec. 1st. Come fight the holiday weight gain. We all know we'll enjoy some tasty treats, come balance it out and work them off. This camp is only 3 weeks long due to Christmas so it’s a discounted rate. Check the site wasatchbootcamp.com for more details.

Arise and Shine!
So I'm not much of a morning person, but I have to say I really enjoy being up by 4:45 a.m. Being a part of the 5:30 Boot Camp has been nothing short of inspiring to me. I love showing up and seeing those involved bust their butts daily so early in the morning. I'm grateful to be a part of such a fun, hard working, positive, goal seeking group. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives and hopefully help you get where you want to be.

What is Wasatch Adventure Boot Camp and What does it mean to be "Fit for Adventure"?
Some of you might be wondering what I've been up to and what exactly is Wasatch Adventure Boot Camp?
Back in June, while at a seminar for the International Kettlebell & Fitness Federation, I met a couple people who were running Adventure Boot Camps in their home towns. After talking and learning from them over the weekend, I came home and did more research about the camps. I talked with some friends who run some camps in Arizona, Ron and Jana Holland, and decided to open an Adventure Boot Camp here in Salt Lake. I went through the extensive training to be certified as an Adventure Boot Camp Fitness instructor and started a location here. Adventure Boot Camps began in California and have now grown internationally. There are over 300 locations in the world. It's the biggest Fitness Boot Camp around. A guy by the name of John Spencer Ellis started it. He's also founder of NESTA.
Adventure Boot Camps are just what the name says. It's a fitness Adventure that takes you out of the gym setting. Its outdoors (indoors most days during Utah’s winters). It's an hour a day 3-5 days a week and four weeks long. Here's the kicker. The first camp starts at 5:30 a.m. I know what you're thinking. Yes, it's early, especially for a non-morning person like myself. My Dad is the only person I know who has consistently woken up at that time for years, but hey it's through change that we grow, right? : ) It's the "no excuse" hour that gets us out of bed and we have nothing to worry about but the camp. Afterwards, your workout is done for the day. No more dreading about finding time for exercising with your busy schedules.
The more I looked into the business model, the more I realized it was something I wanted to be a part of. My goals have changed the last couple years when it comes to fitness. I'm not worried about trying to be the biggest, toughest around (although I can still kick my brother Ty's butt). I'm now focused on being functionally fit so I'm able to do the activities I love and having energy to get through my day. Thats what being "Fit for Adventure" means.
Check here often to see what we're up to and see some of the Adventures we're having.
Thanks for listening. Also a huge Thanks to Travis Gneiting for the awesome work on the website (http://www.wasatchbootcamp.com/) and to Coby Strom with http://www.decalzz.net/ for turning my truck from a gas guzzler to now a gas guzzling moving billboard.
Until next time,
Brad
