Bootcamp has changed my life for the better, I'm in much better
shape. I'm healthier, and I have confidence in myself. Brad has
taught me that exercising can be fun! For the first time in my life
I can say that I've stuck to my goal of being healthy and loosing
weight the right way. Thanks Brad!

Thank you so much for doing what you do! I can't explain how much fun I had while
working out! Joining your boot camp has been one of my best experiences. Everyone,
especially you and your mom, made it so easy and fun. I never once woke up dreading
on going to camp. I may not have been too happy about waking up at 4:50am :) , but
I was always excited to find out what our next big ADVENTURE would be for that
morning. Thanks again! There are so many good times I will never foget.
I honestly have never had more fun working out than with you, your mom, and the rest
of the crew. Thank you for showing me that getting and/or staying in shape doesn't
always have to be a drag...especially when it's 5:30 in the morning and 30 degrees
outside!!! :)

I’m a 39 y.o mother of two. I have aggressive rheumatoid arthritis that is currently under control. I have been pain free for 2 years thanks to medication, NUTRITION, and EXERCISE! Once my inflammation began to decrease from the meds, I started indoor cycling classes. Cycling was the only high-intensity exercise I enjoyed that did not impact on my joints. I cycled for about 2 years then became bored and stopped going. That’s when I discovered Wasatch Boot Camp/Kettle bells. I was apprehensive to try the KB class, but it was only 30 minutes long and I figured I would take it easy by using a lighter weight. After the first class, I was hooked. I came out of the class with a good rush of energy and didn’t even feel like I worked that hard. The exercises did not impact my joints at all. Kettle bell training is a full body, cardio workout in just 30 minutes! It’s easy, fun, and produces great results in a short amount of time. I was skeptical about how kettle bells would improve my cardio until I started cycling again. I went back into cycling like I never left – I had great energy and my cardio was strong. I highly recommend this class for everyone – men, women, teens, athletes, etc. It gives you lots of flexibility to do different exercises with various degrees of intensity. It’s one of those classes where you can constantly challenge yourself if it starts to get easy.
Brad, owner & trainer of Wasatch Boot Camp/Kettle Bells is a great trainer. He stays current on different workout ideas that are fun instead of repetitious (except for that big nautical rope - nobody likes the rope ). Brad is also a positive person and knows how to motivate. He is very approachable and easy to talk to.

I chose your boot camp the first time for a number of reasons: (1) you were
the first to respond back to me via e-mail! I didn't even hear back at all from 2
other boot camps, (2) you were positive in your e-mail in that you recognized that
work/travel may interrupt my attendance but didn't lessen my commitment, and it pays
the bills! (3) the early AM time and geography worked out, (4) I liked the
personalization of your website - especially the photo of you, Jenna and Zoe, and
(5) there weren't any quotes on it talking about "hell week" and "Drill Sgt. Steve
really kicked my ass" and stuff like that. I chose to sign up for another round
because it was exactly what I was looking for, what I needed, what I liked ... and
IT WAS FUN! It's nice to be able to show up and get a good workout and laugh and
joke along the way. I also like the opportunity to focus on individual=2
0goals/improvements.
I really appreciate your commitment to all the people who attend and I
think you do a great job motivating people. I would absolutely recommend your boot
camp to anyone looking for a personal challenge, a change in their exercise routine
and the opportunity to have fun. And, I'm pretty sure that laughing burns a couple
of calories here and there, too.

Utah, a happy, healthy place to live!
Recently Utah was named as the happiest and now one of the healthiest places to live in the U.S. Today I just saw that we're rated the 2nd healthiest in an annual ranking by the United Health Foundation.
People will disagree and say it might not be accurate. Oh well, I like it here. We're doing something right! Let's keep it up.

Party!
We had a great time this morning celebrating 1 year of Boot Camp and also Halloween. We did some pumpkin drills, hula hooped to thriller and had a ropes gone wild contest. Here's some pics of the day.
Also notice the one of Stacie doing the ropes. She took 1st place out of the women in our contest this morning. 1 min. 53 sec. non-stop rope slinging action. She's one of the most dedicated campers. It puts a smile on my face seeing her improvements and to be around her great attitude.
Props to my Mom!
I'm so lucky to work with some amazing people at Boot Camp. They truly all have inspiring stories. Check out this article Amy Donaldson wrote on my Mom and how striving for better health/fitness has helped her through a dark time in her life. Keep it up Mom, you're an inspiration to many!
Amy, I can't thank you enough for this wonderful article and sharing my Mom's story.

Article written about Adventure Boot Camp in Deseret News
We had the privilege of having Amy Donaldson come and join us for this last months camp. She has a cool job, and writes about fun and exciting stuff. A while back she wrote about a paddle surfing class she took, which caught my attention since I picked up the sport in the spring. We we're excited when she wanted to come try out Adventure Boot Camp, she's in great shape, so we we're able to scale the intensity to her ability. Everyone's at different levels and we cater to each one. Thanks Amy it was a blast having you with us!

Guest Apperances at Boot Camp
We've started a new thing we do once a month we call "Club Boot Camp" We have hula hoops, jump ropes and a strobe light going. It rained this morning so we moved the club indoors. After the strobe and hula it was time for some Aerobic fun. Who better to invite then 'Dancin Debbie' and Mr. Aerobics himself. Check out the celebrity pics some of our campers took afterwards :) Deanna's face is hilarious in the 2nd pic and look how ripped Dancin Debbie's arm is in the last picture. She's completing her 11th camp in a row. That'll make any son proud!

Our new addition : )
It's been a little since I've updated the blog. We fininshed July camp and are almost two weeks into August. Both groups have been a blast. The July campers saw some great results, I'm excited to see what happens at the end of this month judging on how hard everyone is working.
We added a new addition to the Boot Camp family. Our little boy Bode Jas was born July 8th. Here's one of my favorite pictures of him that our friend Shanna took. He's never too young to ride my Harley. :) Ok maybe he is, he can atleast sit on it though.

Keys to Life -Will Smith
I found this video of Will Smith. It's after he won an award. I find it fitting for today after Boot Camp. We did a lot of running and got our butts kicked! No one gave up, listen to the video when he talks about the Keys to Life, Running and Reading. Nice work this morning and thanks for not quitting when things got hard!

Fun group of campers!
We just finished the 2nd camp of 2009 and I gotta say it was a blast. It was a fun group and everyone came and worked their butt off. (literally) Here's a group pic after we finished the testing on the last day, also check out the mean punches everyone is throwing. We focused a lot on Kettlebells this time which I love doing. They are such an amazing tool for functional fitness. They burn fat, tone, build strength and are fun to use. Nice work Feb campers! It was a pleasure working with you :)

Jumping Jacks
At Wasatch Adventure Boot Camp, we do our fair share of Jumping Jacks. I always figured they were a pretty universal exercise. Well this video says otherwise. Here's some U.S. Soldiers doing Physical Training with some Iraqi soldiers. It's funnier each time you watch it.

Resolutions follow throughers :)
Almost everyone makes new years resolutions to get in better shape. Problem is it's tough to follow through. Well Let me introduce you to some follow throughers. Dustin,Loni,Ty(notice he's flashing our Wasatch Adventure sign),Kelly,Debbie and Gaylynn. They just finished the 1st camp of 2009 and did an amazing job! They lost inches, body fat, gained a ton of strength and made new friends. We had a blast and I couldn't hope for a funner, hard working group. Two sweet facts of two of the campers. Loni just had twins a couple months ago, she kicks butt, she lost 4 inches on her waste and dropped 8% body fat. Debbie(my madre) went from 17 push ups to now 43! She could never threaten me to clean my room growing up, good thing I've moved out cause I'd be scared of her guns now.

Fitness Trends for 2009
Not only do I love my job, but I'm feeling really lucky right now :) I came across an article by the American Council on Exercise about whats looking Hot in the Fitness Industry for 2009. Boot Camps are #1 and Kettlebell training is #6. Wasatch Adventure Boot Camp is the first authorized and licensed Adventure Boot Camp in Northern Utah, making it part of the largest Fitness Boot Camp in the nation if not world. As for Kettlebells, I've been trained by two of the best in the industry, Steve Cotter and Ken Blackburn who founded the IKFF
